Russia tested the world's most powerful vacuum bomb on September 12, 2007. The bomb unleashes a destructive shockwave with the power of a nuclear blast.
It is believed that the new vacuum bomb is much stronger than the US made Massive Ordnance Air blast bomb - MOAB - also known under the name "Mother of All Bombs", and hence is called "Father of All Bombs".
Test results have shown that its efficiency and power in commensurate with a nuclear weapon.
